What to expect at Church
Welcome to Our Sunday Service!
We’re so glad you’re considering joining us! At The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, our Sunday services are an opportunity to worship, learn, and grow together as a community.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning, here’s what you can expect when you join us.

Locations in Czech Republic & Slovakia
A Diverse Community
Our congregations are made up of people from all walks of life – from different ages, backgrounds, nationalities, and cultures.
While some of our congregations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia may have over 100 members, others might have as few as 10. What unites us is our belief in Jesus Christ and our desire to live better lives, grow in faith, and support one another.

What to Expect at Sunday Services
Sacrament meeting
The main part of our Sunday service is the Sacrament meeting, which lasts about one hour. During this time:
- We listen to talks prepared by members of the congregation, just like you.
- We reflect on the life, teachings, and mission of Jesus Christ.
- We renew our commitment to be better, to serve others, and to grow spiritually.
- We worship Heavenly Father and think deeply about our relationship with God.
- We have a special opportunity to partake of the Sacrament, which helps us remember Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and renew our commitment to follow Him.
Learning and Growing Together
After Sacrament meeting, we spend an hour in classes where we divide into different groups:

Young children learn through stories and activities.

Teens study scriptures and discuss how to apply them in their lives.

Adults meet together to study the teachings of the scriptures and modern-day prophets.
Worship, Fellowship, and Support
Our Sunday service is not just about worship - it is also about building relationships. We fellowship, share experiences and support each other as a church family.

Did you know?
Worldwide, we have:
- 17.3 million members speaking 188 languages.
- 31,490 congregations
- 335 temples

Why Choose Our Sunday Services?
Whether you're seeking peace, wanting to deepen your relationship with God, or looking for a community that supports your spiritual journey, our services offer a unique opportunity to:
1
Worship together in a warm and welcoming environment, regardless of background or experience.
2
Learn from the scriptures and modern-day prophets to guide your daily life.
3
Build lasting friendships with people who share your desire to be better and grow in faith.
4
Experience a personal connection to Jesus Christ through the Sacrament and teachings focused on His love and guidance.

What is the sacrament?
The sacrament is a sacred ordinance where members partake of bread and water to remember Jesus Christ's sacrifice and renew their baptismal covenants, or promises, with God.
The sacrament is reserved for baptized members. Nonmembers are welcome to attend services but should not partake of the sacrament. Instead, they are encouraged to use that time for reflection and contemplation.
What should I wear to church?
You’re welcome to come in any clothes you feel comfortable in. Most men wear button-up shirts and ties, women typically wear dresses or skirts, and children usually dress up too.
